Online Counselling
Online counselling is available for those where we can’t meet face-to-face. Instead, we meet through a scheduled encrypted video counselling session in an effort to combat your pornography use. Online counselling can be an adjunct to individual, couples or partner counselling; or it can be a standard way of conducting counselling.
Who it helps
Online counselling is most useful for men who find it impossible to attend a session face-to-face. This can be due to geographic limitations, but also can be due to other circumstances. This can be particularly useful for some men who find it difficult to initially talk about these more personal problems in person.
Why it works
Although online counselling can be less effective than face-to-face counselling, some men find it more palatable because it allows a certain distance between me and them. This additional freedom – where the counselling isn’t as confronting as face-to-face counselling – can then give men a greater freedom to talk about some of the issues. It also allows them to have a greater sense of anonymity.
What it’s for
Online counselling can be used as an alternative to individual counselling.
What to expect
In online counselling , you can expect that we will talk through some of the difficulties that you have with pornography use. You can also expect to get a greater understanding of why you use pornography, the times when you will feel most triggered to use pornography, but also a wide range of skills and techniques that you can use to combat your use of pornography.
Online counselling for pornography addiction costs $120 per 50 minute session. As online counselling is more anonymous than face-to-face counselling, I require payment made in advance.
